NBR Gasket & Seal
NBR Gasket, also known as NBR Seal, Buna-N Gasket, Nitrile Rubber Gasket, Nitrile Rubber Seal, NBR Seal, Which were produced by compression mold with Buna-N, Nitrile Rubber Material, which are usually produced by silicone rubber compression molding, extrusion moulding or rubber injection moulding. NBR Gaskets are quite common in industrial and automotive applications.

NBR Gasket Material, also known as Nitrile rubber, Buna-N, and acrylonitrile butadiene rubber, is a synthetic rubber copolymer of acrylonitrile (ACN) and butadiene. NBR Gasket's chemical stability is good, processing performance is good, with its structure of acrylonitrile content in the relative density increases, the curing speed, tensile strength increased, but resilience would decline, cold resistance variation.Since the cyano in NBR is easy to polarize, the dielectric property is reduced, which is a semiconductor rubber. NBR can be divided into high, high, medium and low acrylonitrile by ACN content. It is used in the automotive and aeronautical industry to make fuel and oil handling hoses, seals, grommets, and self-sealing fuel tanks, since ordinary rubbers cannot be used. It is used in the nuclear industry to make protective gloves.
Notes: FDA NBR/ Nitrile Rubber is sturdy enough to handle suction and discharge for food and dairy products. It withstands temperatures of -40°F to 212°F. FDA NBR known for its high resistance to animal fat and vegetable oils. FDA Nitrile (Buna-N, NBR) is typically black or white in color.

NBR Gasket & Seal Advantages
NBR Gasket has good Oil resistance: NBR is a synthetic rubber that is resistant to oil (especially alkane oil) and has good aging resistance. NBR has excellent oil resistance which is superior to natural rubber, chloroprene rubber and styrene butadiene rubber. In general rubber, NBR’s resistance to benzene, petroleum base oil and nonpolar solvents (such as mineral oil, liquid fuel, animal and plant oil and solvent) is far superior to the performance of nonpolar rubber, like NR, SBR, IIR,CR, while NBR isn’t resistant to polar solvents and polar oil.
NBR Gasket has good Ozone Resistance : the disadvantage of NBR is that it is not resistant to ozone and aromatic, halogenated hydrocarbon, ketone and ester solvents.
NBR Gasket also has good physical properties such as resistance to compression set, tearing, and abrasion. Typically, NBR or Buna-N comes in durometers (Shore A) ranging from 20 to 95 for applications that require a softer or harder rubber. Nitrile resists water, but provides poor resistance to weather, ozone, and aging. Acrylonitrile butadiene is also unsuitable for some applications because Buna-N won’t withstand temperatures that are colder than -40° F (-40° C)
Caution: Nitrile Rubber Gasket should not be used in applications involving highly polar solvents such as acetone, MEK, ozone, chlorinated hydrocarbons and nitro hydrocarbons.
